Connection & Functional test Medijet®
This description cannot replace the instruction in the manual, which is delivered with the appliance.
Connections:The thick silicon tube is connected to a flow meter, mixer, ventilator, or onto a driving unit. The flow is set to approximately 8 l/min. The thin silicon tube is connected to the water column or onto a driver. This setting must result a pressure of approximately 5cm/H2O. To use our sindi driver, Medijet with all safety standards will be the best solution, see special user manual.
Function check:Turn on a flow of 8 l/min. and close the nasal prong outlet with fingers. This should create a CPAP pressure between 4,5 to 5cm/H²O at the water column or at the driver.. This flow creates a jet into the generator and controls the physical valve. The nCPAP pressure is mounted over the thin silicone tube connected to the water column.
Attention: If the Prong is open to atmosphere, there is no nCPAP pressure! Safety:Medijet® is an active nCPAP generator without any mechanical movements of its component parts. The patient is always open to the atmosphere. Only the drive flow controls the exit resistance. As higher the flow, as higher the exit resistance of the valve. It is urgently recommended to provide an oxygen saturation measurement. This gives a better monitoring of the ventilation and it's affectivity. The best safety with Medijet® is, to use sindi driver, with high standard.
